Country Wedding Theme
I am planning a September wedding in the mountains of Big Bear California. I need help on ideas of "country/outdoor" centerpieces, but not "western". Any ideas. I want to make them myself and somewhat inexpensively.

Hi Lori,
Sounds like your wedding will be so beautiful in the mountains, I suggest if there are wild flowers of all sorts, prefer the tall ones, cut and gather then tie a bow about mid way down, place in large vase, they should look very natural and beautiful. Another nice idea would to buy inexpensive bird houses and decorate to your liking. You could also use grapevine wreaths with large candles and just some green ivy and berries around the wreath. How about logs cut the same length/drill holes in for candles and maybe wrap some ivy around them with attached paper or silk flowers.
Good Luck

Lori,
I just thought of another idea, go to a local nursery/or any local store that has shrubs/tress ect, and look for dwarf shrubery, wrap container in metalic paper (like florist shop uses) place middle of table with tulle wrap around it in color of your choice. You could also use miniture white lights where allowed to plug in on other tables. Decorate them if you want! After the wedding present them to family members and yourself to plant and remember this day forever
Have Fun

Another idea, that would not cost so much, would be to get some glass bows of sorts...and fill them with water and put floating candles in them that can be lit...and as the evening goes on, and dark comes, it would be beautiful.

My brother and his wife had a country wedding. For centerpieces, we used different things on different tables. We bought small fishbowls for around 2/$1, and goldfish for about 10 cents each. In each bowl, there were two goldfish, which were given to the children after the wedding. Also I gathered wildflowers, such as blackeyed susans, and arranged them loosely in different vases which my sister in law and i already had. My favorite though, were small pots of herbs, like mint, (about $3) which we tied bows on, and layed wildflower petals around.
Congrats! and good luck with your decorating.
