Renee`s Bridal-AHHHH
I can`t even begin to explain the hell we (my bridesmaids, mother and I) went through with this company. We ordered dresses from this place after one of my bridesmaids tried on a dress at their shop. They were very helpful the first time and said they could get it in any color, no problem. Ok, so we order them. I started to get a little worried when we realized it had been almost four months since my mom ordered her dress (prior to the bridemaids) and they hadn`t called us yet to say that it was in. So, I call them and they tell me that we have to call them to see if they`re in yet....WHAT? We spent almost $1000 there, and they can`t call us to tell us the dresses are in? Should have been my first indicator of a problem, but I stuck with it. Finally, the dresses are in and the four of them (3 maids and my mom) and I go in to get them fitted. Everyone`s dresses are at least four sizes too big. I even asked the woman who runs the shop why they even bother measuring if they`re going to be ordered way too big. She said they always do that. Bla bla. So, they are way too big, but she assures us they`ll be fine ( this is also three weeks prior to the wedding date) and we make an appointment to come back three days before the wedding. They said if there are any last minute alterations that need to be done, they`ll do them on the spot that night. So, we go back on the Wednesday before the wedding and the dresses are still awful. Oh, and no seamstress in sight. The male owner said that his wife and daughter(who runs the shop-Renee) will be there in ten or fifteen minutes. We wait for an hour and a half, and at this point, we`ve looked over the dresses and I (the bride) am starting to get really upset because they look so awful. We find the original dress that we ordered from and compare the two. They are completely different. It was supposed to have a gathered waist, and the gathers are all different sizes apart, the beading is completely different, the bodess is different, the hem is different, and the list goes on. At this point, I cross the street to another bridal shop. I asked the woman if they could get another dress in overnight, or if they could alter the one`s we already had. She was an angel and said yes. So, I go back to the other store and we prepare to take our dresses and leave (the dresses AND alterations were already paid in full at this point) and the man screams that we`re stealing and calls the cops. Still no seamstress I might add. I tell him to go ahead and call the cops because at this point, almost two hours in, it`s getting ridiculous. FOUR police officers come, in FOUR separate cars. I was just waiting to wake up and find that this was all a nightmare. The police were there for about an hour when a seamstress shows up-wow- and she tells us she`ll fix them, she`ll stay until two in the morning. (Prior to this, the man told my mom he hoped she`d have a stroke so she could feel how he does.) Well, it`s awfully nice of her to offer to stay, but we`d been there almost four hours now and I`m not willing to stay longer. We argue and argue and I refuse to take anything less that a full refund for everything. They continue to refuse and in the meantime, my bridesmaids are across the street. They found dresses off the rack for $25, just need a few alterations and the woman that runs that shop, had already stayed open two hours past her closing time. Finally, Renee is on the phone and says she will refund their money after fourteen days. Well stupid us, we thought the contract said in fourteen days and it`s been twenty one and still no money. We`re completely prepared to take them to court if that`s what we need to do, but this day that lasted what felt like millions of hours was like a bad dream. I can`t believe that people would be so greedy and dishonest and be ok with ruining the biggest day of people`s lives. What seems to be going on is that the shop shows styles and then makes the dresses themselves allowing a huge profit in their pockets. God had a plan and everything worked out for the wedding day, with huge thanks to the angel across the street. After the ordeal I spoke with three people who have had a similar situation or know someone who has with this shop. It`s still unbelievable that it happened in the first place and we`re doing everything we can to expose them. Thank God I didn`t order my wedding dress from them.
