The only things i have experienced is very bad mood swings ( that i get physical), hot flushes, and rashes on my breasts and on my arms that never go away. My suggestion to you is to stop taking the depo shot. Rumor has it that they are taking it off the market because of adverse side effects. I really wouldn`t worry about not ever getting pregnant, but talk to your doctor about it.

I don`t think there is any need to get all defensive here. If someone has a concern about being on birth-control like the depo shot, I think it is very smart to get iformation from people who have been on it. These side effects are very real and if you aren`t having them, then good for you. This is a WOMEN who is concerned about her future and having children. I`m really glad that you don`t want to have children. You`re only 17, you shouldn`t have to worry about having children at that age. You need to focus on your schooling and your future. There is no need for you to have this reaction. In fact, it`s very childish. Different people have different concerns. You need to learn to respect that.
And for your information, the depo shot has proven to lead to osteoporosis. Which is a disease in which your bones done have enough calcium to stay strong. Your bones are easily broken, you become weak, and probably will have a hunch back. This is something that won`t affect you now, but it will when you get older.
My advice to you, is to settle down and learn to repect peoples` differences. All you needed to do is say how this dep-shot has helped you. No need to get defensive.
And I thought I`d add in here that my bestfriend got pregnant twice while she was on the depo-shot.
