WARNING - Trisha`s Formals/Bridal

Just wanted to stop any of you before making the same mistake I did. I chose a vendor from this site who I thought was very nice and helpful to make an Amsale replica for me....I`ve even taken up for her when there were other bad posts. I don`t know why I didn`t see those as red flags.

In any case, beware of Trisha`s Formals. It is not a trustworty business. I contracted for a gown to be made of silk ziboline. I got quotes from other vendors on this site, but Trisha`s was the only one who said they could actually use silk zibilone. I commend the others for being honest.

I received my gown last week and guess what, it was not in silk ziboline. Not even in silk micado which is similar. Instead it was in silk satin. For those of you who are wondering if there is a difference, yes there is a great difference. Silk ziboline is matte and textured whereas silk satin is smooth and shiny. It makes it a whole different dress.

So I confronted Patty, and you let me show you her reply:
"The name Amsale gives to the silk is a designer trade. You can look up and you will not find this name listed in fabric guides. Mfgs. Go by percentages mainly on silks. This is made of a top grade silk..." She goes on to say that she will not give me a refund because my gown looks almost identical to the original. I think not, the fabric difference is astonishing.

So, I wonder. Why did she promise me that she could do the gown in silk ziboline and even contract to do so? Why didn`t she provide me with the statement above before I contracted with her? I even added into our contract that she would go see the original gown before making it to be sure we got all of the specifications correct. It doesn`t appear now that she did that, nor did she even know what silk ziboline look like.

I think this is a business who will do anything to get your money, even lie about their ability to give you what you contract for.

So ladies, don`t do what I did. I got a negative recommendation from someone about the business but I tried to think the best of Trisha`s and even thought maybe the bride was over reacting. Girls, when it`s your turn and you`ve found your dream dress it`s very disappointing to receive soemthing that is completely wrong and then get refused a refund. Even worse is to have someone you thought was trustworthy lie to you.

I can`t believe she is doing this!!!!! She still has shoes and a bra that she needs to ship out to me!!! Im so GALD I didnt give her any of my money. I told her I had to sell my dress first... She then came back and told me to send my dress to her and she would spend me the one I like... My dress cost me 800.00 and the one I liked(she had was only 350.00) I was going to do that deal but now IM SO GLAD I DIDN`T!!!

Can`t believe that Patty is just ignoring me, that makes me even more irrate. I will be a thorn in that woman`s side for the rest of her life if she doesn`t work with me to clear this up.

Your advice is helpful and I had already contacted my attorney and she`d told me the same thing. I`ve contacted my credit card company and the BBB (I guess if she`s closing she doesn`t care). If I don`t see that either of those are working after the holidays I`ll be taking her to small claims court.

Kimmy, to be honest, I wouldn`t give her my money if I were you. I promise, promise, promise that my dress was made in the wrong fabric and have my contract and swatches from Amsale to prove it. Now she`s refused to do anything about it and is just ignoring me? I haven`t even brought up the fact that she was supposed to give me a free veil with my order, but hasn`t! That`s not a way to do business even if you are having family difficulties. If you`d like to see my contract and emails for proof I`ll be glad to forward them to you.

Patty, if you are reading this, your unresponsiveness is proving your guilt. I hope you can sleep at night knowing you`ve done anyone this way.

Check with your credit card company each is different but I would estimate at least 6 weeks as they have to do their own research. I would let them try to resolve it first. You`ll have proof that you were trying if you still need to file a claim later.

Is Trisha`s Formals going out of business? I ordered a dress(an original) from her back in late October, it isn`t supposed to arrive until Feb. Is she going out of business? OMG! HELP!!

Her name is Patricia Hegler, and her business was supposedly in Maiden, NC. I assume her husband`s name is Johnny Hegler b/c that is who her Paypal account was through.

I almost had my BM`s dresses made by Patty. Thank the Lord I didn`t. I was looking through my communications with her and this is the information she gave me. Good Luck to All!!

I see that everybody is having the same problem with this Patty lady. I ordered a custom dress also, and when I heard that her business closed down, I immediately asked for a refund. As of December 24th, she replied to my e-mail and told me that she mailed the refund that day. I have yet to see my money. The only things I`ve read was that her husband was having health problems and such. I got the same contact information:

As number I could reach, but she never answers them. I think she is purposely avoiding me. I don`t know the address of her shop, but I visited it there before and I know where it is. It use to hold different dresses, but now its just desolate and empty. I don`t know what I`m suppose to do about getting my refund back, but I e-mailed her back today (December 29th, 2004) and gave her a weeks notice. If I have to, I will contact the police. Maybe there is a way for all of use to pool together and get back our money or some sort of refund. I do sympathize with her family problems, but as any person should be, he or she should have the responsibility to take up for his or her actions. I do sincerely hope that she refunds me soon. This is unbelievable, considering I met her in person and found her to be a VERY nice lady, but it seems her actions are flawing her character. I do hope each and every one of you get some sort of compensation. As for me, I have to worry about getting my money to never going to Prom, which is sad b/c this will be my first true going out with friends.

I was conned, too. I got my dress but it was not to the size specifications. Patty told me to return it and she would have it altered. I have not been able to contact her since I returned it for the alterations. She has my dress and my money. I could have had it altered myself, but she insisted. Now I have nothing to show. No money and no dress. The website is shut down and all her phone numbers are dead ends. My emails get returned to me as her email address is also disconnected. What a mess!!

Thought I`d try to help. I came across these comments when searching for Trisha`s Bridal. This information comes from the WHOIS directory for domain names and is the information listed for ownership of her domain www.trishasbridal.com. She is registered with Yahoo! for hosting so the information is likely very accurate. Johnny E Hegler is probably her husband.

I ordered a wedding gown from Patty.. And original from maggie sotterro and it was scheduled to arrive in a couple of weeks. Im devastated.. No dress, out the money..
I filed a police report yesterday and contacted my credit card company. If you ordered a dress and it was charged to your card, you typically have 60 days from the time the order was supposed to be SHIPPED to contest it, not the charge date.. So i marked "never received item from vendor" on the dispute claim and then had to send in emails and my contract with patty showing when it was supposed to be delivered etc.. They seem hopeful that they can refund my money. I hope some of you can do the same. I filed a report with the police and they are investigating already and have called me twice.. I will also use that in my credit card dispute.

I was definitely freaked out when I read the earlier postings, but I tried to keep my cool and have since gotten my money back and ordered my dress from someone else.
I called the police number located in an earlier post and they gave me a # for her (can`t find it right now). I called her to find out what the story was. She checked to see if the order she had supposedly placed for my dress ever went through and it didn`t, so I proceeded with the charge back. The police told me to ask her to authorize a "charge back" to my credit card which she did and got my money back within 24 hours. The police said if she gave me any trouble to call back to file a report, but I had no issues, beyond the headache of finding this crap out via the internet instead of a phone call from her.
