What Shall My Guests Do In Between?

My reception and ceremony are at the same site. The ceremony is in the backyard and the reception, under a tent, on the side of the house. Chairs need to be removed and placed under the tent after the ceremony. Also, we will be taking photos at this time. I would love for our guests to move in front of the house, to lessen the confusion! lol Any suggestions like games or something? All ideas are appreciated. Even wild and wacky ones!!!!!

If you are having a disc jockey or a band for the reception, ask if they are able to provide background music in the front yard as well. If they are, the person performing your ceremony can simply ask the guests to gather in the front yard for cocktails and hor d` oeuvres or just soft drinks. I own a disc jockey service and we often do this if both ceremony and reception are located at a private residence. If you are not having a band or disc jockey, perhaps you can play some light music from a home stereo. Just be sure to get your speakers up off the ground a minimum of 6 feet, otherwise the sound will get bolcked by bodies or objects in the path the speakers are facing.

Good luck and congratulations!

Thanks so much for your ideas. I have hired a DJ, so I will definately consider having some music playing out front.

Music will lure them to the front. You might also have a fruit/cheese station at the front. Food and music will do it. Have clergyman annunce that the reception begins in the front yard...follow the balloons to the front.

Good luck..keep me posted...carolyn
