Recerption Centerpieces
Daughter is getting married August 31.2002. Would like some ideas on centerpieces for tables, will need about 35 of them so need to be slightly thrifty. Can anyone help?

My fiance and I are getting married in an older, antique styled reception hall. We decided to use the theme for the centerpieces. We collected Mason jars from my grandmothers and friends and filled them with silk flowers for half of the tables. On the other half, we are putting old-styled lanterns with candles.

Keep in mind that candles are cheaper than flowers. Also, try theknot.com.

For my daughters wedding, her colors were black and red. I purcharsed plastic top hats from a Party shop and put ice in it and selzer and put the bottle of champange in it. I put a vase with a single red rose next to it.

For economy and elegance, try paper roses. You get the exact color you want, there are several styles of roses to choose from and they are easy. With the help of a few bridesmaids or family members, you can be done with a few sessions of roses and pizza for the gang. Check them out at http://paperroses.faithweb.com. I made them for my daughter`s wedding reception and got rave reviews.
