Honeymoon Flights
Has anyone heard of a stewardess bumping up newlyweds to first class if there`s open seats in first class?
I believe I heard of people trying to do this & they just show their marriage certificate.

I wouldn`t count on a freebie like that. Maybe it`s happened a couple of times, but I don`t think it`s done often. Can you imagine how irate the other passengers in coach class would be? Don`t forget our honeymoons might be momentous occassions to us, but other people don`t care a diddly squat about it.

That only happens in the movies. Quite living in your stupid-wedding-dream-world. You aren`t that god damn special.

It does happen. People get bumped up often and for all kinds of reasons. However, when I say "often" consider how many people travel on planes on a day to day basis. While many do get upgraded, times that number by thousands more who never will. So definitely do not count on it, but do ask! And dress nicely, at least business casual type attire.
Ask at the gate. Or don`t even ask, just mention you`re on your honeymoon when checking in at the gate. Even if they don`t upgrade you, you are likely to get some kind of special treat.

I mentioned that I was getting married on the island we were flying to and that I was very nervous and very afraid to fly and we were given first class seats, I was made to feel comfortable and I didn`t ask. Just as Linda stated, you just mention that you are newly weds. I wasn`t doing it to get something out of it, I did it because I was deathly afraid to fly after losing a family member on 9/11. My fiance told the people at the gate and they put us in first class helped me to get comfortable and really helped me to get over my fears. I was almost making myself sick. I did send a huge thanks to US Air and we sent little gifts to the staff who helped me.
