David`s Bridal

My future daughter-in-law has been to 5 fittings at David`s Bridal in the East Bay (Cal.) and is STILL iwaiting for the dress to be altered correctly. The seamstresses don`t have a clue, and the manager told her, in front of other customers, that if she was going to buy a cheap dress, you would have problems. They also ordered the wrong size to be altered, then told her to stuff her bra in order for the bodice to fit correctly - They were supposed to remove the shoulder straps, and tighten the bodice, instead they sewed along the length of the side seams, from under the arms right up to the waist, so naturally it was far too tight. We are absolutely going to take this matter further, and hope that anyone who has like problems, simply won`t allow D`s B. To get away with this very bad service. She has been through a lot of heartache with the dress (starting from August until now) and is going to Brazil in 3 weeks time for the wedding - still unsure of her dress. I am totally disgusted and we WILL do whatever it takes to correct this situation. Enough is Enough!!!! Kay.

I had an experience with david`s bridal that was crazy!! I asked to be removed from their email list and they replied in an insolent and ridiculous manner. They actually wrote me back and said that they were distributing my nale to all wedding vendors in my area (Greenville, SC) that they should not work with me because I had the nerve to ask them to remove me. I did however say in my email removel letter that I did not wish to recieve anymore "crap" from them. But that doesn`t deserve a nasty reply with idle threats. What a horrible, unprofessional store. I wonder if their corporate office even knows, and if they do - Do they even care?

Hi, I tried posting a reply to this and it got lost but this is to say, I am so sorry for all the problems you are having. I have hard SOOOOO many stories of David`s Bridal mishandling things, it makes me sick and I feel so bad for everyone. Its been as bad as them refusing to do even the simplest things to correct problems, most of which are caused by David`s themselves!!!

That treatment of the request to be moved off their very annoying Spam list is terrible, too. Just sick. (I can`t believe the amount of mail I get form those people!)

About the alterations...Honestly, I would drive over there right now and get the dress away form those poeple! Don`t let them make any more alterations. They`re people are completely underqualified, and it`s COMPLETELY illegit to say you need to stuff the bra. I am working with a wonderful seamstress now and the things they are refusing to do are EASY in the steamstress world. A good steamstress can get that dress exactly the way you want it.

I know it represents lost money, but I`d get the dress to someone else pronto.

Sharon, maybe your right. I went to David`s Bridal in Tallahassee, Florida and I am going tomorrow to pick up my dress, I am so excited. They were wonderful. I have spent a little while today looking at message boards on David`s bridal and of course (just like with anything else) you always hear more bad than good. And most of the people complaining are from out west. I couldn`t have asked for a better experiance from ANY Bridal Salon.
