Honeymoon Theme

No it is a nice theme but why is she worried about a honeymoon when it is the husband`s place to pay for that. Even if they were paying for it together, they can drive to another town, do a bed & breakfast, show, dinner, dancing and come back home. Maybe with the help of her parents, you guys can all get together and send her away for a weekend. It can cost less than $500.

Most couples who are not able to afford a honeymoon usually have a grand wedding and wait until their first anniversary to take a nice trip for a honeymoon. It doesn`t have to be right after the wedding but it sounds like a nice idea what you are doing and I like how Terri said that you can all (with the help of her family) put money together and send them somewhere for the weekend.

Thanks for all the advice. I guess it`s a concern for her because it`s her first wedding, his second. He`s got a 5 year old daughter and they just haven`t had much time to be together by themselves. The "staying local" idea sounds great..it would save the expense of airfare,etc.

I don`t see why you can`t break with tradition and throw a honeymoon shower. By that I mean ask guests to contribute cash toward the couple`s honeymoon. Your party theme for the shower could tie into the honeymoon destination. I think you guests would really like that idea. Those who don`t want to give cash as a present could give an something that the bride/couple could use on the honeymoon like a sexy negligee or a gift certificate to a restaurant or spa gift certificate. I`ve been to kitchen showers, so, why not a honemoom shower.
