Stupid Question.

Hey....if she is wanting to get married sooner then what you want i would give her the promise ring but dont make it like the proposal because then you can make the proposal so sweet and romatic when the time is right. I wouldnt give her a big speech with the promise ring but explain to her when giving it to her that you do see marriage between the two of you and you do want to marry her but you want to wait to propose and get married til the perfect time. And if that time is when she gets her phd then she will understand and will accept the promise ring and wait for the engagment or proposal when you see fit. I would slip the promise ring inside of a rose and have the tip of it out the top of the rose...then give her the rose and say whatever you wanted to say.
