How about buying plastic champaigne glasses they are inexpensive and make little floral arrangements. Check out your dollar type stores near you, they have some pretty neat things you could use too. I made little bird cages $1 ea. And put flowers in them. The bride and everyone really liked them.

Hi,
Two ideas for centerpieces (no candles) I am not sure how large your reception is, but what about a real miniture wedding cake on a cake reserve at each table. You could buy inexpensive dishes at a local dollar store, or ask family, bake one or two layer cakes of different flavors, decorate with white icing and use silk flowers on top. I attended a wedding like this with about 15 round tables and it was just beautiful, everyone was talking about the cakes as centerpieces and the flavors they tasted. The bride also told me that some of the cake dishes were family pieces from older aunts and they were so happy she was using them. She also put colored tulle around the base of the to match flowers, it was just beautiful.
Then I went to a wedding and they had large fruit/flower bowls. It was very well received. You could even use decorated baskets. (bows/flowers)
Just something I thought was different for you to consider
Good Luck

I went to a wedding that bought glasses vases and then put the marble rocks on the bottom and Beta fishes. Everyone really liked watching them swim around and you got to take the home as a gift. There were none left over.

I am not sure howmuch $$ we are spending on our center pieces... So sorry i cant tell you that... But what we are doing is getting Florist Foam in round balls... Its a green foam that florist use (i foudn it at hobby lobby) you place the foam in water and add flowers to it... We are putting carnations to decorate they are pretty flowers and last along time!

From my wedding I used the glass bowls w/ the rippled top edge put some toole (netting) on the bottom filled about 1.5 inches of water and floated a flower in the wedding color and sat it on top of a doyle. Dollar tree is a great place to get the glassware from.

I used the little glass bowls with the rippled tops put netting in it and filled it about half way with water and the floated a rose bud in it to match my flowers. Looks really good on a mirror, but also looks nice on a dollie ( can find them at the dollars stores too!) Good luck with your wedding!! And have fun remember it is a MAGICAL day for you and him!!
