I know in michigan, the dollar store sells sailboats that can be filled with candy and you can use that as a centerpiece and there is this outlet mall in Monroe Michigan that sells a lot of nautical stuff at like 75% off. I forgot the name of the store though sorry.

What about a message in a bottle? The message (scroll) could include your name and date, as well as a thank you to the guests for coming. You can find small empty bottles (glass and plastic) at American Science and Surplus (http://www.sciplus.com/). You could then use thin rope/twine around the neck of the bottle to attach a place card (if applicable).

I was married on the beach and had my reception there as well. We had fishbowl filled with colored sand and seashells around the edges. In the middle was a large white pillar candle. I made a weath around the base by using a foam ring and stuck flowers and interlaced ribbon. My place car holders were picture frams with seashells glued around the outside frame. Everybody LOVED them and guests were able to bring home both the centerpiece or the frame, besides my favors! Good luck!

I too am being married on the beach. For our favors I found small plastic bottles with corks at Hobby Lobby. We filled them half with sand and half with small colored shells (also found at Hobby Lobby). I then printed out on clear address return labels our names and wedding date, attached them to the front of the bottle. I am using ribbin to attach a small piece of paper rolled up that contains a thank-you message.

You could give candy bars with a nautical-theme wrapper as a keepsake. Email me if you would like more info.

I am having a black and white wedding and trying to find something different for my centerpieces. I picked up some fish bowls. Filling the bottom with black rock. I am buying 2 black fish to swim in the bowl and putting a white floating candle on top of the water. I have a lot of children coming so it`s something for the kids to take home with them.

I am looking for ideas for inexpensive favors for my sisters wedding shower. She is having a nautical theme for her wedding and I would like to keep with her theme for the shower as well. Any ideas? Something with sailboats and lighthouses would be very helpful. Thanks

Do a dontation to marine life researve ( and then hand out a pen or something with a fish on it with a card attached saying a donation has been made in your name) there is nothing better than a donation people through away favors all of the time

There are mixed feelings on this one but how about using real live fish as long as you take them home afterwards or give them to your guests after the reception. You can buy a fish bowl fill it half way up with water and put another long slender vase inside of the large one with flowers to match your colors. The fish will swim in circles and would look beautiful. You can add colored rocks at the bottom of the fish bowl and buy a betta fish- They come in all different colors. Hope this helps!

I am getting married next August and our reception is right on the beach. For my favors I bought Glass fish bowls and put a bag of white sand on the bottom, next I decorated on top of the sand with sand dollars, starfish, seashells, sea glass, etc. I then placed a layer of clear candle making GEL, let it set and then added a sea turtle (so it looked like he was swimming) and then added another layer of GEL. On top of the GEL is a little clear/round glass plate with a round candle placed on top.

I think buying little bowls and fill with water, buy gold fish or betas and place one fish in each. Also, Oriental Trading magazine has good fish favors.........OH, and the .99 cent store or Dollar store in you neibghorhood has good fish favors too.

I had a friend that use the small inexpensive betta fish at her wedding as center pieces. They were beautiful to see them swimming around then they were what the people took home a suvinirs for the wedding. If there are kids there they will want one so you wont be stuck with so many.
