Instead of spending a lot on favors, make a donation to a charity or foundation (like maybe Make-A-Wish Foundation) in your guests` honor. Make a small card letting them know what you have done, use rafia to tie them to miniature pumpkins, and put them at each seat.

I don`t know if where you are located. But if you are in the northeast you could do maple syrup in small maple leaf bottles. I went to a wedding and they had these with little notes thanking everyone. It was a great idea.

I was at a wedding last weekend, and they had Fortune Cookies! They were chocolate dipped in white chocolate and drizzled in purple and lavender, and the wrapper was tied with a lavender bow. The best part was the fortune in the inside was custom, with the bride and grooms names and wedding date. The fortune said "It is our great fortune to have you share our special day." The cookies were really good and everyone had a lot of fun with them, so I kept my wrapper and called the company today. The number wasn`t working so I emailed them and they got right back to me and told me they were having problems with the number. They told me they could do any color bow and drizzle and whatever I wanted the fortune to say. Maybe you could have the bows in fall colors or something like that!
