Run Away From Landmark Estates!

Run away from Landmark Estates. It is run by Mechelle Farrell/Peralta & husband Jaime Peralta. Because they can no longer do business under FYI Events or Fleurever Yours International (because they were embezzling their clients money), they have closed shop and opened up as Landmark Estates. They are crooks and are disgusting people ruining the lives of hundreds of people. People work hard to save money for a beautiful wedding. The last couple of weddings, they flat out told their clients, "We can`t do your wedding." After the clients had already payed for the entire thing. What they do is, they get new client`s money to pay for the old client`s weddings. Make sense? I don`t think so. Trust me, we all have better things to do, but we can no longer let families be victimized by Mechelle Farrell & Jaime Peralta`s greed. You will only be donating money to the Mechelle`s Designer Bag Knock Off Foundation & the Jaime Peralta Drug Fund.

I must say that I had the pleasure, GAG, of meeting these lovely folks a few years ago at a Bridal Expo at the L.A. Convention center. At the time, I was a still “we behind the ears” wedding planner who was looking for any assistance that I could to get a glimpse of what it was like to do weddings on a grander scale.

Mechelle directed me to a gal in Vegas because I had a bride who wanted to be married closer to her family in Henderson, NV. I was given the complete run-around, not to mention the sales pitch that I had to join their intern plan in order to have access to their properties.

Just a simple call to the BBB of So. CA, along with having a savvy business mind, taught me a lesson that I will never forget to this day. Always check with the BBB to see if the person that you are about to hire has complaints filed against them. Being a member myself, this is the best tool around, ladies and gents. Not only did they not own the property nor have exclusive rights to the property, as I’d been directed to believe, but I could, and did, rent the property from the management company that was truly in charge of the property.

I, too, could have been swindled into the clutches of Mechelle Ferrell, but my intuition kept me from being taken advantage of by thieves. Karma, the best 5-letter word on the planet, works in mysterious ways, and the Ed McMahon of Karma is about to come knocking on their doors with a check that they don’t want.

All that I can say is that there are good, honest wedding planners out there, and if you do your homework, you’ll get one that works well with you. As I always say to a potential client, make sure that the personal chemistry is there. You’ll spend a good year of your life with the person and if you just don’t hit it off, well then, they aren’t the planner for you.

In closing, I’d like to thank Mechelle and Jaime for making it just that much easier for myself, and other legitimate planners, to reap the rewards of your unscrupulous actions!

This is so true. This is exactly how they work. It really is disgusting and horrific. I feel so sorry for these families. Does anyone know where to find more articles /info about the details?

Why has no one mentioned the city and state where this occurred, other than the post that stated the home address....what was the business address...were they based in more than one city or state?

The bottom line: always check with the BBB before spending money. If the BBB says "that company is not on our file", that is not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of businesses are not registered there. Even so, if they are not registered, once a complaint is filed, they take the company name, address, owner name, etc., and if you call and there was a complaint, you will know it even if the company never registered. I called about a company and was surprised there was no file on them. They said that means there have been no complaints. I took a gamble because this little salon wouldn`t accept credit cards. Instead they offered a contract stating I could get my money back within 60 days if I were not satisifed for any reason. I went with them and was very happy with the gown I bought and the alterations. I had no problems at all and my dress was ready on time. Also good to try to get a few referrals from former clients, not foolproof, but better than nothing.
