Charlene - I`ve Never Been To Me

I am signing in here as well, to let the world know what a phenominal talent Charlene has, and hope you all support her effort on her forthcoming album, due out soon.

I am a fan, and you will be too, when you hear this voice.

She may have never been to herself, but this mystery lady visited a lot more of us than she will ever know.

Charlene who sang "I`ve Never Been to Me" which was featured in the Austrailian Film "The Adventures of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert" has a new CD called "Time Stand Still" featuring a Dance Remix of "I`ve Never Been to Me" plus 10 more dynamic tracks. This CD is not in stores at this time and being sold only at live shows and from her web page at http://www.charlene.biz

I do not believe this cd is for real - nor do I believe Charlene is putting out another CD. It is my understanding that Charlene only made one song -- and it was "never been to me" -- just be careful before you send money off people -- to some place you don`t know about. This is a WARNING! I hope I am wrong

If you go to that website -- it has a clip of the supposed new release -- by Charlene - listen to it carefully -- it surely does not sound like the song I know and love -- be wary of buying something that you are not sure of.

I am seeking permission to use the song I`ve Never Been To Me. I have tried to find who ownes the rights to this song but have had no success yet. Is there anyone out there who can help?

Dear Charlene: In the 80`s I listened to "Never Been To Me" over and over again...singing at the top of my lungs. I wore the cassette out and have been searching for a CD of that record for years. I have been looking for Charlene`s release on CD but no avail....as far as albums concerned not the one hit song in other compilations. I look forward to her re-release and new albums.

Those of you looking for the original album on CD, check E-bay, it is available as a Japanese import. It was never released on CD n the US, you can also find her other `82 album "Used To Be"on CD on E-bay sometimes too. Motown recently released the "Last Dragon" soundtrack on CD which features Charlene`s "Fire", a track that was cut from her last Motown album, "Hit & Run Lover"

I have this memory that Charlene was a protege of Prince. Was she?

I am a fairly intelligent man, I fully understand the lyrics to "never" what you are singing so well, by that I can feel `you" I was able to indentiy with it first time out, for some reason, a lot of people just don`t get it.

I bought Charlene`s album "I`ve never been to me" when I was a kid...I played it so much I wore it out. I would like to know where I could buy it on CD?

I live in India. Last montrh i saw an adon TV about a album called "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU" the ad showed many all time hit songs. I brought this CD and I`VE BEEN TO ME was also featuring there.
