David`s Bridal In Dallas, TX

I ordered my wedding dress through David`s bridal in Dallas, TX, the Walnut Hill location. When the dress came in, the beads were all loose and the dress looked worn. So, I had that dress sent back and a new one sent. The new one came in, but did not fit. So I switched sizes. When the new dress came in, it was awful. I was reduced to tears. It had all loose beads and discoloration...big spots all over the top half from over-handling. I let the manager know, and to my horror, she argued with me! She told me that it came directly from the warehouse and became standoff-ish when I told her that dress in that condition was not acceptible. After arguing with her for a good hour over this, she finally agreed to have it sent back and a new one sent. Each of those 3 times a dress was re-ordered, it took about 3 weeks for the new to arrive. This last re-order took place 5 weeks ago. I called yesterday (11/11/04) to check on the new dress`s status, and was told that the arrival date specified is 12/20/04!!!!! You can imagine my horror. This boils down to that manager making sure the dress arrives late enough for me not to have time to send it back if it is defective. I am disgusted. I paid alot of money for the right dress for my wedding, and have literally gone to he## and back with DAvid`s bridal. I DO NOT recommend this store to anyone shopping for any wedding need. Especially those people in Dallas...be ware of the Walnut Hill store - They have NO customer support skills and should be out of a job.

I`m SOOOOO sorry to hear about your trials. What a pain. I can`t believe they could order something 3 times and have it defective each time. Sadly, I`ve haerd that your experience is not unique. I started looking for a gown at David`s (here in IN), but my mom read a couple books on gowns and they one emphatically did NOT recommend them. It sounded like others had had very similar experiences to yours. I don`t know if that reflects the chain a a whole, but it certainly raises some red flags.

Good luck...this is next to impossible, but you might try on some other gowns and see if anyone has something nice you could order right off the rack. A good seamstress can adjust sizes down a size or two if necessary. Of course getting David`s to refund you might be a trail. :-(
