Period

My wedding is in nine months. We have a tentative date set, but how do I figure out if my period will interfere? I have heard that because of nerves, most women get their period on their wedding days anyway. Does anyone have any tricks to postpone your period for a week? I have very heavy periods and I do not think they will be good for the wedding and wedding night!

I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD EITHER GET ON THE PILL OR ON DEPROVERA SHOT. THEN YOU WON`T HAVE YOUR PERIOD AT ALL AND YOU WON`T EVEN HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT. IF YOU GET ON THE PILL YOU CAN CONTROL WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR PERIOD!
HOPE I HELPED

CHECK W/ YOUR DOCTOR, TRY A LOW DOSE PILL (LIKE LO-OVRAL) SO YOU WON`T HAVE TOO MANY SIDE EFFECTS. ALSO, PLEASE DON`T TRY DEPO PROVERA...SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY HAVE SPOTTING BETWEEN PERIODS & GAIN ABOUT 15-20 POUNDS WHILE ON THIS MEDICATION!!!

Do NOT take depo provera--I gained 20 pounds in three weeks & it took months of dieting to get it off even after I quit taking the injections. I only took two and my body has never been the same! YUCK!

I knew a doctor who put his fiance on birth control pills so she wouldn`t have her period during that time. She just kept taking the pills, not taking a week off, and she didn`t have her period until she quit taking them the next week so she could have her period.

I don`t know about making your period come early/late, but if it`s going to come, there is a product you can buy which will make it less messy to deal with, especially the intimacy part. You can buy "Instead" at Target or CVS. You insert it much like a diaphragm and it collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing it. It makes for less messy sex during your period. I tried it for that purpose and was very pleased. You can visit their website at softcup.com (I think). I also now use it just for regular period protection.

Taking a monophasic oral contraceptive continuously (instead of taking a week of placebo pills) will eliminate your period. I don`t advise doing this often, but for your honeymoon, it could be a great alternative. Ask your doctor about Lo-estrin .
