Depo Shot
Hey everyone,
I am 18 years old and today I got my first depo shot. I have large lumps in both of my breasts that have been quite painful for me, plus I have had horrible cramps for years. My doctor told me the best way to get rid of my breast pain was to get this shot every 3 months. She told me there were no risks involved at all. Now I am worried after reading all these messages, the sad thing is I`m not even using this as birth conrtol b/c I am saving sex for marriage. What should I do? Is it risky for me to stay on this shot? I really need some advice here, thanks!

The best advice is to talk to your health care provider (doctor, nurse, etc.). Medications react differently to everyone`s body. Concerns should be addressed ONLY to a person you trust who has knowledge in the medical field and knows you and your health history.

I am investigating the possible connection between Depo Provera and an array of hormone related/affected illnesses, included (but not limited to) Cushing`s disease/syndrome and pituitary tumors.
If you have suffered from a lack of a period, visual changes or disturbances, headaches, dizziness, lethargy, major weight gain, depression and/or anxiety, increased hairiness (i.e. Facial), or facial swelling (also elsewhere on body, especially around neck, upper back, possible "hump") - since taking Depo Provera, please contact me as you are not alone! lisaw2005@hotmail.com .
