Vegetarian Wedding Reception
Hello,
I have a question for everyone. If the bride is a vegan (a vegetarian who does not consume, wear, or use anything from animals) and the groom is vegetarian do you think it is totally understandable and acceptable for them to serve vegan or at least vegetarian food? Most guests would be non-vegetarians, but shouldn`t loved ones understand? Your comments are appreciated. Thanks :o)

Its okay...i see it this way--nobody will die from not eating meat one day, but a lot of chickens and cows will if i feed about 100 people meat...so i`ll be having a veggie wedding.

I agree with Angelique and the other girl.I am a vegetarian too and my husband to be is almost vegetarian, (he only eats a lil` fish sometimes-but is changing to to total veg, cause` he is lovin` all the meat substitutes I have shown him....we mostly eat
Vegetarian all the time, so that would be weird to serve meat to people if that is not what you believe in. It`s your party girl, and you don`t have to serve meat. That would seem to go against your principles for other people.People pleasin` to the biggest degree-not sayin` that anything is wrong with eatin` meat, I`m only sayin` if that is not what you personally want.Plus vegetarian will be healthier for your guests for a day, which is loving and there are sooooo many great vegetarian things to eat that they will probably get hip to some good non meat things....so you`ll actually be doing them a service, cause` otherwise they probably never would`ve tryed something new. They have these spinach puffs(phyllo dough, flaky crust) at Trader Joes everywhere that are real good and cheap and most even non-vegetarians like those type things. There`s fruit, and cream cheese sandwiches and maybe cucumber with basil or whatever(which I know is not vegan but you could use "tofutti better than cream cheese" also at Trader Joes so it could be vegan or vegetarian.Well, also in Los Angeles places, there is this mock chicken salad that is soooooooooo good, and this pasta with this bomb fake chicken stuff,There is even fake ribs called riblets by Gardenburger with a fabulous barbeque sauce(they wouldn`t even know it wasn`t a real rib slice I`m tellin` you for real, there is just sooo many things, these are just a tiny few that came to mind right now.I hope you follow your heart. My cousin is thinkin about chocolate covered strawberries and a real nice fruit platter can be such a pretty centerpiece with or without something in the middle and will let guests have something to pick at while waiting for the dinner.I hope you have a blessed event.

I SAY GO VEGETARIAN!!! I bet if you didn`t tell them it was vegetarian they wouldnt even notice with all of the options and subsitutes we have today. It doesnt have to be all vegetables you know. You can throw in some tofu or maybe some pasta or something. No one would even notice. I went to a veg wedding once and I didnt notice at all until I actually became a veg and I asked. The food was really good. Please dont kill anymals! =)
