Maid Or Matron Of Honor

HELP! Our honor attendant is divorced and has retained her maiden name.. Should she be listed as "Matron or" Maid" of Honor?

I very well could be wrong but I would think that she should be considered single and be addressed as such. No matter which last name she has.

Technically if she`s ever been married she is called a matron of honor. But if she would prefer to be called maid of honor, go ahead. It`s not an important issue.
