Need 1st Birthday Flower Theme Ideas
I am planning a 1st birhday party for my daughter using a flower theme. I don`t want to go overboard on the flower theme---but I want to make it feminine but also trying not to exclude some of the boys who will be invited. I am making flower cookies on a stick put into a terra cotta pot at each of the place settings and using them as nameplates. Any other ideas?

I just read an idea I`m going to use for my son`s 1st birthday. It is a time capsule. Your guests (adults and older children) are asked to bring items for the capsule along with an explanation. Also include pictures and a video of the party. The idea is to open the capsule on her 18th birthday. You can either bury ("plant") the capsule or perhaps make the capsule look like a planter box. Another idea: send invitations in seed packets - slit open the top, remove the seeds and insert invitation with a ribbon attached to top so the invitation can be pulled out of the seed packet. Use garden gloves to make hand finger puppets. Cost Plus has great large butterflies, etc. To hang as decorations. Finally, make desserts with choclate pudding, oreo cookies crumbled on top and gummy worms sticking out in clear cups for a garden treat! Hope this helps... The ideas are endless!
