Flower Girl, Wedding Dress . . .help!

Hi Ladies,
Me and my fiance just started to plan our wedding. It is going to be October 1, 2005. It will be an outdoor wedding and reception and the bridesmaids dresses and flowers will be wine/burgandy.
OK, that`s the easy part, hehe.
First of all, there are no girls in either of our families that are the appropriate age to be flower girls. My fiance does have a niece but she will only be 2 at the time of the wedding. Is that to young, and if so would I just not have a flower girl?
Also I am thinking about going with hot chocalate and burgandy mini calla lillies for my flowers. These can be a tad expensive, but I found a few websites where you can buy flowers wholesale and they ship them the day before the wedding, where they are pretty reasonably priced. This worries me though. Has anyone else bought flowers over the internet, how was your experience?
Finally I want a formal white dress, but not the traditional wedding dress style. I am looking for something sleeker and more modern. Has anybody seen this kind of thing anywhere. I have found that to leave the traditional you have to go more casual.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

For the flower girl, you could find a little wagon and paint it white and decorate it and have the ring boy who I assume is a little bit older pull them down the aisle. I think that would be cute and then you wouldn`t have to worry about her not being shy. You could also have her use a silver bucket and drop leaves instead of flower petals. They only cost a couple of bucks at Wal-Mart or Garden Ridge.

My flower girl will be a month shy of two when my wedding comes around in july, that doesn`t worry me a bit. It really depends on the child. My flower girl is not shy at all and she seems to have a daring personality. But even if she does freak out, that`s okay, it`s not the end of the world, i mean she`s just a kid and the day is not about her, if anything it will be cute, funny, and memorable. If you want to have a young flower girl that`s fine, but really with any flower girl you should have realistic expectations, they`re just kids and they are far from predictable, don`t expect everything to go perfectly.

I`m gong to go with pink calla lillies for my flowers too. I have also noticed that they can be a bit costly. The big calla`s can range to be $9 each, and the small call`s around $4-$5. I looked on the internet as well and i am going to get my callas from 50flowers. They are from out of the country (a little nervous i am ) but the lady was really nice and assured me things will go smoothly. Hope this helped
