Money As A Gift

There are some traditions where money is offered instead of a gift. This is just customary to help bride and groom start their new life together and usually helps with the down payment of a new house. Although it is not usually stated in the invitation it is known within the tradition. This is mostly practiced in the eastern countries. In America many people feel that gifts are more appropriate. Being an asian american I was fortunate to have the best of both worlds. My invitation briefly reviewed the traditions and what to expect during our cultural wedding which included the choice of gift. It did not state MONEY ONLY but showed the preference in tradition. But lets face it ladies when it comes down to it, we would all rather recieve the money over the gift! But we`d rather recieve a gift than nothing at all so it`s a win-win situation if you ask me.
