Need Help

It`s not weird to start planning now-- or did you mean that it`s weird to have a prom in December rather than in the spring? Anyway, the most important decision you will have to make is about the music. That`s what it`s all about! First, find out how much money you have to spend on a band or DJ. Then start calling and reading websites, calling and reading websites! Bands should have demo CDs or tapes, and some have videos, so deciding on a band might not be so hard. For DJ services, check their references; see if they`ve done other schools and how the students liked them. Also, find out how much money you have for food and beverages, and if some of these can be donated by moms or grocery stores if your school is on a tight budget. (Some schools have their proms in fancy hotels and they don`t worry about those things!) The music and food will be your big concerns; the theme, colors and other activities that go with a theme aren`t as much of a problem because you`ll have tons of kids giving suggestions, and if the prom is at your school there will hopefully be people to help decorate.
