I am Cuban and my fiancee is American. We are having a traditional Cuban wedding and some key things in a cuban ceremony include: The Mantilla tradition: This is where someone the bride chooses and someone that the groom chooses (typically one woman from each side of the family) place a lace veil covering both the bride and groom`s head and shoulders during the consecration of the Eucharist in a Catholic ceremony. Another traditon is that of the "Arras" which is 13 coins (typically spanish coins) that the groom drops in the brides cupped hands during the exchanging of the vows. Thirteen represent the 12 disciples and Christ. This is a symbol of "what`s mine is yours"... The groom is making all his fortune his brides.
