What To Get Parents As A Thank You Gift?

Any suggestions? They are paying for a large portion of wedding, and don`t know what to get.

Do you need to buy the parents "thank you gifts" if they`re not paying for the wedding?

For our wedding I found these great wooden photo albums, you can engrave what ever you wish on them and put a photo in the front. They are not cheaply made either, they are oak with brass hinges,
13 1/2" W, 12 3/4" T & 3" D and they have oak stands that you can purchase so they can be on display in there home! My parents loved theres, I engraved "Our Family Album" at the top, in the middle was our family picture and on the bottom I engrave each of our names. They came out so beautiful I told myself I would let everyone know about these for gift ideas!

This has also been a question of mine. I have done alot of research, and i dont want to do the usual engraved picture frame. They are beautiful; however, I want something different. I was thinking about sending them on a mini vacation to a bed and breakfast. My parents did everything they could do make my day as special and romantic as they could....so i wanted to do something so they could have a romantic get-away!

Just a quick note on the rules for parent gift giving. Even if you are paying for the entire wedding yourself you should get both sets of parents a gift, it doesn`t have to be huge or anything. Just a small token of thank you for doing such a great job raising us and bringing us where we are today.....
My husband and I had a very hard time trying to figure out what to get our parents. Both sides helped out so much with money and physical help we were lost becuase we could never afford a trip or expensive gifts. For the Mom`s we had handmade hankies embroidered with the names, the date, butterflies (our theme) and Mother of the Groom and Mother of the Bride. We went to antique stores to find a box or something to put them in. His Mom collects old wedgewood pieces and we found the perfect box, for mine we found and old butterfly painted box. For the Dad`s we bought a combo pack from an online/catlog steak company and paired it with a new BBQ tool set.
