Wedding Dress Fabrics

Hi,

Can someone please tell what`s considered a good fabric for a wedding dress. I`ve gone to a couple of places, and really like the silk material...but you have all these different silk/satin combinations, it`s hard to determine what`s considered a good quality dress...you know...you know what you`re paying for example pure silk has different names? ie: BMW Silk Satin, Princess Silk Satin, Euro Crepe(which someone told me is a good quality silk) Silk Duchesse Satin....etc etc. Can anyone relate to my confusion???? I was told you can tell by how thin the material is..the thinner the better??

Also, does anyone know of a designer brand sale event coming up in the next couple of months in the southern california area? I like Lazaro/Reem Acra designs.
