Low Country Boil Dinner Party
I'm having a dinner party on July 21st for about 20 people. I have decided to do a Low Country Boil. I need ideas as far as table decorations etc.

I saw a site for a caterer that does low-country boil parties and tiki torches and hurricane lanterns seemed like the standard decor.
Hope this helps

I bought plastic paint buckets and put the guests name on the outside with all the necessary utensils, washcloths, butter, salt . That way each guests have their own supplies necessary.
Place 4inch mums, flowers, etc in brown paper bags and wrap a raphia bow around each arrangement.. Place on tables for color....

I am having my first dinner party and decided the easiest would be low country boil. I was wondering if it is outside in the evening if there should be some music. If so, what kind??? It will be about 10 dentists that know each other well and the wives.so there will be plenty of easy conversation. Should I ask them to bring their own chairs? I could set up tables with checkered table cloths but wanted to try to keep it simple. I am not a stuffty person but I like to do creative get togethers because I thinkk it makes a nice memory. T see all the nice party dinner wear and love to take the opportunity when I can to re-create ideas I see on TV. So I want it casual, yet different. Anu iodeas? ALSO what kind of dessert would go good? I thank anyone who will take the time to give me some ideas. I am a rookie at all this, but love to entertain when I have an excuse to do it

I would think something basic and simple would go well with this in keeping with the theme of the dinner, such as strawberry shortcake or a blackberry cobbler!
