Breast Implants
My wedding is in December. In October, I am having a breast augmentation with saline-filled implants. At my consultation with the doctor, they let me try on sizers and let me tell you-- it was awesome! They let me use a sports bra exactly my size, then let me insert actual saline-filled (AKA saltwater-filled)implants into the bra until I found the right size for me. And this is kind of personal, but when I squeezed them it felt so real! It was THE BEST thing in the world not to feel padding for once in my life! I can`t wait to have this done and go straight to Victoria`s Secret and look great in anything in the store! Don`t get me wrong, I am very secure with my body, and my fiance has always told me I am fine the way I am (but he also supports my decision, of course). But, I want to be able to wear sexy bikinis and lingerie, and it is sooo hard to do that without anything up top! Have any of you ever had the surgery? Whether you have or not, what is your opinion on the whole thing? Thanks.

My opinion is go for what makes you feel good. If this decision was based on the personal preference of someone else, I would be against it. But, since it appears this is something for You and You alone, then by all means be confident in your decision. I was blessed in the breast area, so I don`t know what it is like to NOT have them; therefore, I don`t think I have a right to judge anyone who wants them, you know:) Also, a friend of mine had a double masectomy due to cancer (she is only 25!) and is now going through the process of breast implants. So far, the process has been wonderful for her. Good luck to you:)

I myself am contemplating getting implants. The only concern I have for you is getting them done so close to your wedding. 1, will your dress still fit? Getting something done so close might cause stress in the dress department should the dress not fit properly... There isn`t enough time to get it fixed! 2, will you be healed in time? Granted, you have two months but this is SURGERY we`re talking about. Plus, taking into account question #1, will you be healed in time to try on your dress to make sure it fits?

I would tell you to use caution with this surgery for several reasons:
1. It is very close to your wedding. There will be quite a bit of swelling a bruising that will likely be around for 4-6 months (assuming there are no complications such as infection - if there is an infection this time will be greatly increased). It is a major surgery and should be allotted the respect it deserves when considering recovery time.
2. One can not sufficiently decide what cup size is right for them by trying on a sports bra filled with saline inserts for 15 minutes. Take it from someone who has larger breasts, they can be very confining. Those sexy lingerie and such you are talking about, if you are larger, you NEED to wear a bra with everything. Also, it is horrible when trying on clothes that button or zip up the front. Nothing ever fits right. People also stare at your chest constantly (maybe this is flattering at first, but it looses it`s appeal very quickly). Maybe having small breasts seems horrible to you, but remember that breasts that are too large can be quite the burden to carry (not to mention quite difficult on the shoulders and back).
I would just seriously consider how important these breasts are to you in the immediate future as well as the long term. Ultimatly it is your decision, but I would still be hestitant if I were you to do this surgery so close to your wedding. The blessing you anticipate it will be may very well turn into something that ruins your idea of a dream wedding (by dress not fitting right, pain, unable to fully enjoy intercourse due to pain, etc.). Anyways, good luck with your decision and your future marriage.
