Fall Wedding - Centerpieces

I will be getting married Oct 1,2005..I want to make my own centerpieces to save money. I love candles and I`m going withe the autumn colors, reds, yellows, oranges, etc. Anyone have any good, inexpensive ideas?

One suggestion is to get a large candle as your centerpiece, make a ring around the candle with the flowers of your choice and hot glue the flowers to the candle. I would also get a shallow glass dish and place a small amount of water in it, then add the candles.
Be sure to create the actual centepiece before you buy all of the supplies, so you won`t waste money.

Hi Irma

Should you decide that you would like some help with your centerpieces please bookmark my web site. You will see on the first page some Fall theme Champagne flutes and I could do something with the autumn elegance leaves on a hurricane or votive favors as well and you will find my prices very reasonable and I do discount for large orders

Congrats on your engagement! I also just became engaged and am planning a fall wedding (10/15/05). Right now the idea I`m toying around with for centerpieces is simple yet elegant, and most importantly inexpensive. I saw the idea on theknot.com. Take a tall, clear, cylindrical vase (about 8 - 10 inches tall) fill with water and add about 5 to 6 plastic/silk leaves in fall colors (you can buy them in bundles at craft stores), top with a floating candle. You may have to `stir` up the leaves a bit in order to make it look right after adding the water. Add flowers or grape vine wreath to the base. Not bad for only $5/piece. Good luck and let me know if you come across any other great ideas.....

A nice centerpiece idea would be big glass bowls and floating leaf-shaped candles that are lit - it would be romantic and elegant.

I like all the other ideas posted as well.

A pretty idea would be pumpkins that are carved out and inside place some pretty mums since they come in fall colors or flower of your choice. Carve out smaller pumpkins and place tea lights in them around the flower arrangement. I `m also having a fall wedding. Hope the idea help. :0)

I was also going to suggest the idea about the pumpkins. It does look nice and very cheap. I have also seen it done with coring out the apples and putting taper candles in them. You can use the apples or pumpkins for place cards by cutting a slit in them and adding the card and some raffia. Very cute and cheap. When all else fails, I say use fruit because it`s cheap and colorful and the guess will have something to snack on.

Hi. I`m a second time around bride & I`m doing everything, and I mean EVERYTHING myself. My flowers are silk because right now my wedding is scheduled for 2/2007 because both of my inlaws have cancer & everything may have to be moved up. So, silk will help with that too. My centerpieces are the plastic tubes of different heights (21" & 30") in the same tray with flowers in a cut off bouquet holder, glued into the tube. I am then putting lit floating candles in the same amount in bowls on the other tables. That will give me two different sizes & looks on at least 16 of the tables. The rest will be what the facility is suppling. If anyone has any questions or needs some advise, let me know. I`ve bought lots of supplies from eBay & local craft stores. Everyone I work with wants to be invited just to see how beautiful my wedding will be. I`m proud that I can do so much of this myself. It will be the wedding I`ve always wanted, and I will have done it the way I want too, not the way someone else does.........
Karen......married in Feb 2007, unless earlier.
