Reception
My fiance and I are getting married in Nov 2004. We have been together for some time and have decided at the last minute to get married. We would like to have reception afterwards but wecan`t really afford to feed all of our guest. How would I word it that the guests are expected to pay for their own meals?

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
Please do not send invitations expressing that you will be having a reception and that guests are expected to pay for their meals.
I`m really not trying to be rude, but...
If you can`t afford an actual sit down dinner, have an early reception and have hor d`euvres - or... Have a small and intimate reception. If you can`t afford a reception - there is a simple answer - DON`T HAVE ONE!!!

I have to agree. I don`t think anyone would know how to word a bring your own money to pay for your meal, invitation. Appetizers, sparkling champagne, a sheet cake with your picture on it and a church multi purpose room is all that you need. Maybe even ask a few people to cook and put it on sternos but never invite people to pay for their own meal.
