UGLY Wedding Invitations

I am the Matron of Honor in my Girlfriends wedding. She just got her invitations last night and the wedding is in three weeks. The problem is that she expected something more elegant that what she ordered. I offered to help spruce up the invitations as best as I could, but I am stuck on ideas. Does any one have suggestions. It is a single card with the church and recejption information on it. It is a white card with red writing.
Help - I have two days to get this fixed and mailed out.
Thanks

You can always hole-punch the invitation and tie a ribbon through it. The writing is in red right? You can use a red ribbon on each invitation to match the ink. I don`t know what the invitation looks like exactly, but if it`s your standard rectangular card, you can punch the hole(s) through the top center (above all the words). There are different ways to tie an invitation ribbon. You can punch one hole or two depending on what type of knot or bow you are trying to tie. You can even tie a charm to the knot for a more formal look. Common stuff you can tie to the ribbon are aluminum rings, heart shaped charms, ect... Do a search on the internet for handmade invitations, and you`ll get some ideas on how to tie ribbons and charms onto your invitations.

I love the idea of a red ribbon but if the church has a steeple, you can put the hole in the steeple put the ribbon through and a bell (not a ringing bell but a silver bell button or charm). You can make them elegant. Let us know what you did.

Thanks, that is just what we did. We actuall printed the couples initials on vellum paper and cut the edeges with a decorative sisccors. Then we punch two holes at the top of both the invitation and vellum paper and tied a bow with red satin and sheer ribbon. Took us 8 hours over two days but the bride is happy and the invitations are finally in the mail.
