Do I Have A Reason To Be Furious?
We had a double wedding on June 20, 2004. My MIL was refered to a photographer that did her nephews wedding. A small fortune was paid for the services. The photographer told us at the end of the day that it would be 3 weeks to get the pictures back. We finally got some of them back after 7 weeks with little communication from her. Some of the pictures were blurry and off center. We let it go. We had to order parent books and portfolios with specific pictures that we wanted in them. She said we would have them back in 2 weeks.... We got them in 3. There was 1 picture in 2 of the parent albums that she got wrong and was totally out of place with the rest of them. I mean anyone could tell that this picture did not belong. I called her this morning and the only thing she is willing to do is send the picture that was supposed to be there in the first place. More waiting! I`m not sure what to do now other than tell the BBB. She has been to 3 family weddings as of now, 4 if you count the double wedding. I am so mad about this whole thing. The only things we have to remember this wonderful day is our marriage certificate and some pictures that she keeps screwing up.

Although I do understand your frustration, I disagree that the only thing you have to remember your day is the certificate. Every morning when you wake up you have a reminder right next to you, look down at your diamond, there`s another reminder.
I`m not trying to be harsh. I went through the same thing a few weeks ago. We were forced to use a photographer in the family and all of our pictures turned out like yours, and worse. Everyone of them is off center, or blurry, or cutting 1/2 of people out of them. Most of them have terrible lighting, even with Pro equiptment, and has left big cloudy areas, mostly over my husband`s face or body. It is going to cost us a bundle to have these digitally touched up. At first I was so upset I was in tears for days. Then I realized that although I wanted perfect pictures, it`s okay. I got the perfect husband instead. We can`t always have it all.
But in your case, I would file with the BBB. You may not get all or any of your $ back, but at least you may stop some other bride from going through this next month.

Well, yes you do if you didn`t get the service you were promised. But the time line is not bad at all. Most couples wait much longer than that. After my November wedding we received our proof book 3 weeks after the wedding. We turned in our proofs and orders March 26th, were told pictures and albums would be ready in 8 weeks. At 8 weeks we were told some of the files were corrupt (meaning some of the pictures did not develop properly) give them one week to straighten it out with the lab. Two weeks later we got them, with the two parent albums missing the same corrupt pictures and random pictures out of our guests orders missing or not right size etc. Give them one week to straighten it out. Three weeks later we got them. We did not receive our proofs or DVD that we were promised, that took another two weeks. So finally 8 1/2 months after the wedding we had what was promised to us. Though they did offer to give us 1-11x 14 and 2- 8x10`s free for our trouble. After all that they did turn out nice and I would recommend the photograpgher, though I would advise to keep on them and call often...you know the old saying the screeky wheel gets the oil. When I talk to my friends they say that is not bad, many have waited over a year, one poor couple never got them...the place went bankrupt and they can`t find the photographer.
So couples beware...choose wisely.

I know that a friends` daughter got married and they finally got their pictures back almost near her first anniversary. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous but I wouldn`t have wanted to wait that long. Her price for these gorgeous pictures? $5000. A down payment on a house. When my cousin got married in Jamaica, her proofs were ready in 3 days and they were gorgeous. She brought them back to the US and had them blown up and chose pictures, turned a few into scrap book type of albums and gave them to the parents with pressed flowers from her bouquet, petals and all types of decorations from the wedding. They were gorgeous. She did them all for $300 and had 5 pictures blown up 1 was poster size. If you feel that you were not given the service that you were promised, then you need to contact the BBB and do it ASAP. Everyone wants to have good, clear, professional pictures to have of the biggest day of their lives. You paid for it and you have that right. Yes your husband is a reminder of that day but you want the pictures and you deserve the pictures in the time frame that was told and the way that you asked for them. If you asked for borders and paid for borders, then you should have them. If you feel that you are still not satisfied, take her to small claims court. No one should have to deal with that type of unprofessional service when they are paying their money for it.
