Wedding In August 2005

I am planning on getting married in August. I am having trouble finding colors for the bridesmaid dresses. I know that I want to have at least two colors. I will have 3 bridesmaids plus my maid of honor so I might also have them all wear a different color. I had a deep burgundy and a grey/purple picked out and I was told by my mother-in-law to be that those colors were too dark. I just do not know what colors are the best for that time of year. If anyone has any ideas that would be helpful. Thank you

If you are wanting to go with a more of a fall theme the colors you have chosen would be fine. I don`t know if you are getting married in the beginning or end of August.

Okay heres the deal, it really depends on your date. I had a friend get married in August of this year. When I heard her idea I was like this is so crazy, but it turned out to be a beautiful wedding. She had four bridesmaids and they all wore different colors: bright pink, a pretty green, aqua blue, and a purple color. She had the bridesmaids take there dresses and go with the groom that they were walking with and they matched the shirt to the dress. The grooms wore just a nice button up shirt, black dress pants, and black shoes. It was really pretty. Then for the bridesmaid`s flowers the used a mixture of daiseys. To be honest with you, they prepared there own flowers. At Wal-mart you can get Daiseys in the fresh flowers and they are like 5.00 for a mixture of different colors. They bought that and cut them and tyed ribbons around them. It was very beautiful.

Then my next suggestion would be to go with this color at David`s Bridal. Its lts a cinnamon color.

Its very pretty on, my best friend has picked this color out and if you are getting married in late August it would be a pretty fall color. Hope this helps

I just wanted to tell everyone thank you for all of your suggestions. I am actually planning on getting married the second weekend in August. I would like to have two different colors for the dresses. I will just feel better once I choose the colors because they kind of set the stage for everything esle, like the flowers and the reception decorations.

I`m getting married the first weekend of the Auguest. I`m in the same boat you are in. 3 bridesmaid and 1 maid of honor. The maid of honor will wear a lavender color strapless dress, and the bridesmaids will wear pink blue dresses of the same design.

This might be a good idea. Put them all in different pastel colors. For and example you can have them in light pink, light yellow, light blue, and light purple. I saw that at a wedding once and it was soo beautiful. They had all different colors of flowers and it was amazing looking. Also, I say it`s your wedding...it`s your day...do what you want. Don`t let anyone influence you. If I let anyone influence me Steven and I wouldn`t be getting married in may we`d be getting married in like 5 years!(his mama wants that)

Well, I had my wedding in July of 2003. I had a rainbow wedding. I picked all pastel colors. Pink, lavender, sage, and yellow My bridesmaids gowns were made (much cheaper than buying off rack). They all had the same material which was satin, but different styles. All my flowers were carnations which were the cheapest flower you can get at any time of the year.I had made carnation ball bouquets, which are flower balls with ribbons that they hang from so you carry them like a purse. The ribbon matched each girls` dress and the flowers were dyed every soft pastel color there is. The groomsmen had matching vests to match the color of the dresses and a matching carnation as the boutinnieres.
