Broadway Party
Anyone have any ideas for a 13 year old's Broadway theme party? I especially need help with the centerpieces. The food is already planned and so is the DJ, but nothing else! Thanks for your help.

Check out -------------- They have a great selection of foamcore that you could use in your centerpieces. Also, you could name each table a different Broadway show that your son likes. You could use Playbills, CDs or music from each play to add to your centerpiece. I've been to a bar mitzvah where instead of candlelighting, they gave out "Tony" awards to each person such as Most Patient Parents, etc. You could hang show posters around the room, too.

For centerpieces you can make different playbills for each table (favorite shows, etc.). As seating cards, you can make a "ticket" with the persons name on it and which playbill they need to go to. Also, an idea as a favor are the "directors board frames". Alot can be done with this theme ... Great idea! Good Luck and Have Fun!

Hi there! I happened to be in charge of centerpieces for a huge B`way themed Gala in Los Angeles and I will have about 120 (40 different ones) B`way Show`s xeroxes of Playbills ~~fabulous one`s. I will be mounting them on cardboard and leaning on mini easels on the table with red roses strewn about. I will be borrowing the easels but I will `should` all of the Playbills back in my hands, if you`d like them!

We are also looking for centerpiece ideas for a Broadway themed Bat Mitzvah next spring. Using playbills sounds good but any help finding playbills (or reasonable facsimiles) would be appreciated. I don`t want to spend $10 each for new ones if possible, and ebay looks like it`s hit or miss. Thanks.

I`m doing a Broadway themed party with 2 other friends and I thought I`d give some of the idea`s we`re doing (mind, we have a very slim budget, so these ideas could be upgraded :) )
-We`re buying twinkle Christmas lights, and some black velvet like fabric and stapling/hot gluing them to the fabric then mounting it up onto the ceiling.
-We got a picture of a TONY award, made it to a transfer and drew it on a big piece of cardboard then we`re going to paint it and place 4 of them in the corners of the rooms.
-For centerpieces on the 19 tables, we`re doing each table a different Broadway musical, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Annie Get Your Gun, Chicago, Cats, Footloose..the more popular ones more people know about........... So for example- The WICKED table we had the tablecloth black, and we have a playbill (like the ideas above) of WICKED. Then we have green mardi gras beads around. We painted one of those drama masks green. We put a mirror (as in a reflection of herself) on the table, had green confetti sprinkled everywhere, a magic sparkley wand etc. Things like that.
-We`re going to cover the chairs in gold/silver fabric and tie a bow in the back in sheer tule.
These are just some of the ideas. Hope I helped. :)

I am planning our daughters partyt for her Bat Mizvah and it is also a Broadway theme. Our centerpeices will be a small flower arrangment with a glitter post coming out of the center and a CD from a specific show on it(jacket case and all). Have your son sign the CD as if it were for someone who had asked for an autograph. At the end of the party play musical centerpeice and when the music stops the person holding the centerpeice can take the flowers home as well as the signed CD. Each of our tables will be of a specific show. Have fun!
