Aagh! We are having a venetian masquerade (not mardi gras) wedding and want it to be formal, and the formality of the invitations dictates the formality of the dress code. But there are no formal looking masquerade invitations. I was thinking of just doing standard invitations and getting a little flat mask insert with info about the reception on it, but I can`t find anything like that either.

Any suggestions for invitations?

My dad is having a masquerade 60th birthday gala, and we found a great article in a magazine for a formal masquerade event with great invitations and table decoration ideas. The magazine was: Food & Wine september 2004 issue, their website is foodand wine .com

Hello - I would love to help you out with your theme. I have a lot of pictures on my web site of other orders that I have done. But I could definitely come up with Centerpieces, favors, etc. That will match your theme and that can be done to be very elegant.

I too am having a masquerade ball reception. I searched for months to find invitation. I became obsessed., and my finacee thought I was going crazy. I have a few places saved, but try cardsupply.com. They have a nice variety to choose from. As for centerpieces, we`re using cheap oil lamps and dressing them up with coordinating flowers and ceramic masks. I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me, if you need any help.

HI Mandy

I thought it would be really neat to do painted masks for favors or even very fancy masks on the hurricanes. It would be awesome

I found these great little masks for cheap that could be used in the decor:
Http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcweb/application?namespace=browse&origin=searchMain.jsp&event=link.itemDetails&demandPrefix=12&sku=2/113&mode=Searching&searchDestinationJSP=/search/searchMain.jsp&erec=0&D=mask&event=button.search&Dx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&namespace=search&Ntx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&Ntt=mask&N=0&origin=searchMain.jsp&Ntk=al at orientaltrading.com Actually they have a lot of great cheap masks that would be good for party favors.

Also, for invites, we decided to keep it elegent, we are using classic invitations, but for the reception card, we are using ttp://www.cardsupply.com/productdetail/masterperstemplate.cfm/prod_id/109552 which are gorgeous and cheap!

Feel free to go to my wedding webpage: www.melissadan.com to get more ideas or email me with any questions. I have TONS of ideas. My page has bunches of links to mask websites, but my fiance and I got ours at www.maskitalia.com.

Good luck! (and sorry about the long web addresses there, this board won`t let you include html)

I bought masks from oriental trading and are using them as place cards. Be forewarned, you get what you pay for. They are a little cheap looking, but for my purposes and the price, they are great.
