I don`t know. I have never ordered a gown directly from the factory in China. And I never will. Designers have standards they enforce with respect to quality of materials and workmanship. Even tho they say that that they make gowns for Maggie Sottero and Private Label, I believe this may not be true. One factory I know says on their website that they USEDto make gowns for Maggie. I wonder why they stopped. But I don`t know. Maybe they do provide the same quality. I have been contacted by two factories in China that will duplicate any gown for any bridal shop, or even direct with the bride. I guess there`s enough business for everybody, and if a bride wants a duplicate, then she should be able to get it.

Isn`t illegal to be making custom "replica" gowns and sell them as replicas or copies? I wonder how the designers gowns that you copy would feel about you making money off og their hard works and 1000 of $$$ the make these gowns for you to copy them! I am sure you gowns are made beautiful.

No it is not illegal to produce a replica custom gown, changes must be made to keep from breaking any copyright laws.

I would disagree with this statement since many handbag designers are sueing everybody nd anybody who is manufacturing and or selling the replica handbags so if I were you I would check the laws in your state. Also the manufactures are waare of you vendors who not only sell the designer copies but are looking into you who claim to "custom" make these replica gowns and are aggressively pursuing this.
SO be very careful what you claim or state here becuase it could be used against you in a court of law since all posting are archived!!

Andrea I am sorry you feel that way. We are good business people and I believe you have misunderstood the posts here. However I wish you luck with whomever you choose to purcahse your gown from.

Sue, I do understand your post and the only way that you can break these laws are by making exact replicas and passing them off as originals. I have checked into the copyright laws. The last thing I wanted to do is break the law when I began my business.

Lisa, Yes there was a misunderstanding between vendors. As for your question, you probably would do well to contact BB, they can provide you with customer referrals I am sure. That is what I normally do. We do apologize for letting stress come out on this board, that was not how it should have been handled.

There are many lwasuits happening right now because of these "copied"gowns. Mahhoe Sotytero is still sueing Private Collections, which has gowns that are 99.9% the same as Maggie Sottero (Maggie`s are made in Austraila and PC is made in China) David`s is sueing DaVinci Bridal for these so called "inspired gowns and the list goes on. The point I am making is that if YOU are offering these replica, copies or what ever you want to call them, be prepared to be sued. These designers have people who all the do all day long is surf the internet looking for things just like what you are doing - using there gowns as a "template" them reproducing their designs. Also by stating that you can reproduce any gown from any designer is only asking for trouble. SO be careful. They are out and they see everything that you post.!! I am sure partypop.com has been contact regaring who you are and for how long you have been apart of this site!!
