Wedding Announcement

My 27 year old daughter who is finishing school in
Oahau, Hawaii surprised us last Wednesday night by telling us that she got married on June 30th. She married the young man she had been dating since January 1st 2004 who is from Brazil. We want to have a reception for her and her husband next year. Right now we want to announce that she is married. Any suggestions on how we should do this? We haven`t set the date yet but feel we should let friends and family know right away. They are not registered anywhere yet. Any help will be appreciated.

The general traditional wording for an announcement goes like this:

Mr. And Mrs. John Smith
Have the honor of
Announcing the marriage of their daughter
Katherine Ann
To
Mr. William Jones
Saturday, the thirtieth of June
Two thousand and four
Oahu, Hawaii

It doesn`t matter whether or not she is registered, as no gift information belongs on a wedding announcement, and furthermore there is no obligation of gifts on receipt of an announcement.

Congratulations on your daughter`s marriage!
