How Does One Become A Wedding Planner ???
I have always wanted to be a wedding planner, and I was wondering, what does it take to be a wedding planner. Before you become professional, and after. Thank you for your time.

I am very interested in becoming a wedding planner. I am currently in my first year of sixth form studying my A-levels. I was wondering how I can get into becoming a wedding planner and what I will have to do when i finish school and if i have to have particular grades in any subjects to be able to become a successful wedding planner. Thank you for you time.

If you are interested in a career as a Professional Wedding Consultant I strongly encourage you to seek training to help you understand how to start your business, plan and execute a wedding. Please research licensed vocational schools - don`t just shop by price.

Good luck.

To become a Wedding Planner, you need a very strong understanding of Food & Beverage, Sales and design. A true Event Planner, Catering Director, and Wedding Planner`s job is NOTHING like the TV shows. It is a lot of long hours and hard work. It takes years to have a successful and profitable company. If you have never planned a party for 200+ people by yourself, I would suggest working for a caterer to discover the world of events.

For all of you "wanting to get started" wedding planners, the best thing for you to do besides the learning seminars is experience. The best and easiest way to get that is by answering some of these brides pleas for sponsorship or help. Post a message with the city you are in and that you are looking to get referrals and expericence, etc... I am one of those brides so i know what im talking about. I am the girl who knows what i want but just want someone there to give ideas and to make sure the day goes smoothly. Good luck and im sure there are brides out there that are willing to giver you referrals and let u use their wedding for practice. GOOD LUCK!
