I don't know if you are in their area, but check out "The Perfect Party. (www.theperfectparty.com). They have lots pictures of their themed prop decor. Even if they don't cover your area or they don't have exactly what you are looking for, you might get some ideas.

I can't say enough about The Perfect Party's(www.perfectparty.com) fantastic props. Delivery area includes all of California, Nevada and Arizona. Set up and delivered under supervision of The Perfect Party. I'm using their "Castle Gates", "Crests", "King's Chair", and suits of armor for my fairytale wedding this fall. You have to see the pix to believe them. Also take a look at the photos of the Greek/Roman, Egyptian and Nautical theme props. They are fantastic. You should take a look ,they may have the decorating ideas you are searching for.

Time after time seems like a pretty neat idea. I'm not sure what you're looking at for ideas for decorations, but I would do something with giant hourglasses. It can be pretty neat looking if its done right.

I`m no quite sure if this would work but time after time you could use more as a `timeline` and get pictures of famous celebrities from the 30s until current day in like poster, and have them shaded/tinted different shades of blue and purple and have those along the walls sort of like a time line and have like different sections of the prom be different eras

I did a prom with the time theme and made big ben clocks out of 4 columns which were on the dance floor. I wrapped black tulle around the columns with gold chains (made from metalic paper) and went from each corner to the center of the dance floor with lights inside the tulle. I hung a collage of stars from the center of the dance floor. I used balloons around the dance floor taped to the floor with staggered heights. It was beautiful. I also hung different stars from the ceiling above the dance floor with different size stars. In the center of the dance floor I also used a disco bulb with the stars hanging below.
