Modelling.. Really?

I was sitting on the computer as my girlfriend, Laura, is reading something... Some kind of fan fic I think. I got bored and started gauging how much better I am than her by typing things like "laura is sexy " and compairing the number of returns on "shawn is sexy" ... Needless to say, I am not comming out very well.

When I typed in "Laura Sucks" I found suprisingly there is far more hate on the web than there is love ... And thus, I am here.

Perhaps it has been a long time since I was a young teen. Perhaps it`s my gender that keeps me from being able to understand entirely. But being "twice removed" perhaps I can offer some words of advice, don`t expect me to regular here ... Teenagers annoy the hell out of me.

But anyway, you all just need to relax. Take a breath. And realize that these dreams of being models and the such are awefully low shooting, and frankly, impossible dreams. I do not mean to sound overtly negative, but I do not understand why someone would aspire to live a life of anorexia only to be gleamed at by the most pervese men; using your body to sell another person`s product in an industry which doesn`t care about you... Only your waste size.

Is that what you choose to amount to?

I`ve worked in advertising, and I am a photography major at the moment. I have only tasted the industry, and I know that it`s not the kind of job I want to persue.

I have faith that all of you can amount to much more than eye candy, I am certain that all of you can make more differences in the world than being plastered onto the front covers of magazines, pasted next to some VJ for no other purpose than to look good.

Do you really want to be the major contribution to the next generation`s low self esteem?

You have a choice right now, you can either help the world or you can take from it. You can suck up the gramour while destroying self esteem, or you can find some way to make a real difference; more so than being remembered as a sex symbol.

Anyway, i`m off now. I am certain there is one word which is attributed to my name which is positive that brings up more google hits than Laura`s, curves and all, I love that woman ...
