I feel that asking for money in lieu of a gift is perfectly acceptable. I cant believe some of the responses on this panel stating otherwise. I realise that everyone has a different view on the subject, however in this day and age its becoming an increasing popular trend. I agree with Juliette, I am glad some of the people who have responded on this message board are not invited to my wedding - HOW RUDE! Get a grip.

Any kind of gift from your "invited guests" let alone money. I have not been faced by this and have gone to a lot of weddings. Perhaps it is a regional thing though. I was brought up in a middle class suburban neighborhood....you?
