Vendors In PA (under $5,000)

Can anyone provide recommendations for vendors in Pennsylvania that are under $5,000? I live in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

Thank you!

Thank you for your responses!

I live in Morton, PA...about 2 minutes from Springfield. I am looking to get married September 2005. I am looking for something that is all inclusive...basically, I want to only have to provide the musician(s) and photographer. I have looked at several places in the Baltimore area, since my fiance`s family is from that area. However, my fiance suggested that since my family and support system is in PA, we should have it here. Also, I have several older family members (including my 78 year old grandfather) who will not be able to make the trip to Baltimore and I would really like them to be present at the wedding.

I am finding that PA seems to be REALLY expensive. We only have a $10,000 (total) budget...but, it might even be less than that because every time I try to put some money into our wedding fund, something comes up...most recently, a $600 phone bill that occurred b/c my line was being piggybacked. Now, we will not be able to even START planning until Feb/Mar 2005. I don`t even know if it is possible to plan a wedding in 6 months!

Thank you for your help!

Fall Bride....to which site were you referring? Where do you live? I am (at least) 3 hours from Pittsburgh. I live 30 minutes south of Philly...about 15 minutes from Delaware, actually! :)

Thanks!

WOW - You`re right by us!! Can`t you call the phone company and tell them what happened? Isn`t there something that can be done for you? Do you know how that happened?

We are getting married St. Dot.`s and then our reception is at the Drexelbrooke. But my parents are funding that one or we would never be able to afford it. We are paying for our flowers and photo. Our flowers are under 800.00! I was SO happy about that and our photo is about 2500.00. We are not doing the video cause it to much money that we want to spend. But you are looking for a place right --? Have you looked at the Edgemont County Club in Newtown Square or the Columbus Club in Landsdown?

Yes...we are very close!! I drive by that Krisy Kreme shop EVERY day (by Target), from work and am soooo tempted to stop EVERY day!! :)

I tried to explain my situation to AT&T wireless...they said that regardless of the situation, I am responsible for all calls that are associated with my line. So, I am going to go to a prepaid card for my cell and keep it off unless I am making a call. I almost cried when I was told this. I explained that I have had the phone and service for a year and my bill has never exceeded $50. Now, it`s $600....isn`t that a little weird? They were a little less than sympathetic. The only good news is that my contract expires 09/17/04, so, I will not be breaking a contract...or incurring a $200 fee!

I am writing down the places that you have suggested...thank you!!! We are looking at a church wedding, so, that will not be too much of an expense. I am having a family member perform the service at my home church in Morton.

Good luck with your planning! I am SOOO glad that I have found this site!

I have never had a krispy kreme! EVER! I must be the only person in the world....

I am totally on the eating wagon though. My dress fits great but I`m I work out every day and am trying to be good. I just want to feel confident - ya know?? 5 more pounds thats my goal. My fiancé went down 2 sizes! He lost more then me.

Actauly I was surprised about how much is costing to get married at St. Dots - Its 525.00! I was floored -- and I am a registered parishioner!

How many people are looking to have at the wedding?

Oh, you HAVE to try a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed donut! Luckily, I have been blessed with a good metabolism because I stop at that shop WAY too much! My fiance always teases me and says that once we have children, I won`t be able to eat like that anymore. First, because I am 28 and my metabolism WILL slow down and secondly, because I want to be a GOOD example to my children (ie...eat fruit and veggies...not donuts!) I may as well enjoy them now!! In case you didn`t know, they are on the corner of Baltimore Pike and Rte. 420. :)

We are looking to have about 100 guests. That is a LOT for the use of your church...especially since you are a member. I need to sit down and talk to my pastor about what my church requires. I haven`t gone to that church in awhile...I am usually in Baltimore over the weekends, since my fiance lives there. But, the church in Morton is where I was baptised.

My cousin got married at Springfield Country Club...it was beautiful, but, WAY out of my budget! $70pp? Yikes!

I am also 28 but I have to work to keep my figure. I run 2-4 miles every day. I went to Neumann College and played softball and was a cheerleader and we had to run alot - once I graduated I never stopped running.

I know where the donout place is. We all most bought a house right behind there. I have lived in Springfield my whole life. I used to buy beer at the Frontier when I was under 21. I went to the Lagoon every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. I have not been there in about 7 years. I actauly met my fiancé there - we have been together for 8 years.

We looked the Springfield County Club but I did not care for the layout. The food is great but I did not like the room. I wanted seperate rooms for the hour before dinner and then a seperate room for dinner. $70.00 is cheap - we are paying 98-99 at the Drexebrook.

Thank you, Mika!

WOW, is right!!! Thank you for all of the suggestions! It is a small world. I know exactly where you work! I don`t take the train (I work in Exton, so I drive), but, my sister works in Center City so she takes the R3 to work. She leaves from the Morton Station. By the way...there`s a little place called The Coffee Shop that is right on Rte. 420, by the train station. They have the BEST breakfast. It`s a quaint, little place but, they are sooo good!

I actually grew up in Alaska, but, have been living in Pennsylvania since I graduated from college. My grandparents have lived in Morton for over 50 years, so, my sister and I spent summers in Morton! I have lived in Folsom and Woodlyn since college.

I don`t know much about Chester, either...only the bad stuff that you hear about on the news. I cannot imagine that the area surrounding Widener would be too terrible. I`ll look in the yellow pages to see if I can find out where the place is that you mentioned.

Thank you for asking your coworkers about wedding sites...I really appreciate it! By the way...I didn`t know that Krispy Kreme had those varieties in the fall. That sounds GREAT! I LOVE that place...but, I only stop when the light is on because I know that the donuts are fresh out of the oven! :)

Thanks, again!!

Hey Mika -Welcome! I was just BJ`s. My fiancés wants to buy that 60 inch Sony TV. I on the fence about.....We don`t need something that big. I was only looking at a 52 inch one. I forgot about the Knights of Columbus - good suggestion. I have heard nice things about the wedding there. I used to go there with friends who were members but have been in a while.

WOW -Alaska! I have always wanted to do there. I have never eaten at the Coffee House but it has been there forever!
