Mother Of The Bride Dress

Is is tacky to wear black to my daughter`s wedding? I found a beautiful dress that I love but it is in black. Her wedding colors are cranberry & champane. I am on the plus side and black looks better on me that a bright color.

My mother has the same concern. And my future mother-in-law thinks they both need to coordinate.
Honestly, I think the moms should wear whatever they want. My mom looks great in black and I know she`d feel good about herself. So go for it.
Now my future MIL wants to wear green - and my color is wine. So she`ll look like Christmas!

I would wear the black and add a little color with the accessories.

My daughter got married last December, and I wore Black. I too was unsure about it, so once I found this dress I loved, I first called my daughter and asked her if it was OK with her. She didn`t care and couldn`t understand why I hesitated to buy it.Then I E-mailed all my computer buddies and asked for their honest opinion, and 100% said go for it. Many said they have seen it done. It once was unacceptable for the MOB MOG to wear black because it was seen as a subtle way to show you were agaist the Wedding. I love my Son-In-Law and everyone knows it so no problem.....and I did wear it!
