Sign-In Boards

I am planning my son's bar mitzvah for August. He is having a 60's or retro theme. Any ideas for sign in boards that are not too expensive? What type of vendors deal with sign in boards? Thanks

I'm making a sign in board for my daughter's Sweet 16 now. I bought foam board from an art supply store, colored oaktag, paper with pressed flowers (you can change it to something he's interested in) and a clear plastic cover you can write on. I'm printing on vellum paper (it's like tracing paper) her name and birthdate. All of these are adhered, one on top of the other with spray glue. It looks really beautiful. The entire thing (not including the vellum paper, that I already had) was $22, including 2 Sharpee markers. I brought in a picture of what I wanted (but was too expensive) and the art supply store put it together for me. Once everyone signs it, it can be framed in a regular poster frame and hung on the wall.

You will find that many kinds of companies do sign-in boards. Balloon decorators, event decorators, rental companies, are a few that I can think of.
Our company does sign in boards and candle holders. We are in California.

My son's Bar Mitzvah was last year and the theme was rock and roll. Because he is a guitar player his sign-in board was a replica of his guitar. We had this made by a party planner. My son is into everything 60's so we have a lot. You might consider copies of album covers as a border--they could be reduced and laminated on. Hope this helps

Did you see I gave the instructions on how to do it? If you need, I can e-mail you a picture. It was very easy and it came out beautifully.

The other idea is to have a photographer blow up your daughter`s picture (either a formal or baby) and have a 6" border around it and have him mount it on posterboard -- you can then have it on a stand when people come in. I had ours passed around and then it stood on an easel.

You could get a life-sized cardboard cut-out of the persona dn have people sign that as the board. That would be unique and funny!

We had Entera, the characterist draw my son as a "60`s character for the sign in board. The sign was wonderful and Entera is an exceptional artist!!! All the children and many adult couples took home drawings of themselves. She was an absolute hit and I highly recommend her for any parties you may have.
