Traditional Irish Music

My fiance and I love celtic culture and music. We want a someone to play celtic harp with traditional music during the ceremony and want to find a live band to play jigs, reels and slow airs for the reception. We live in Boulder, Co.

Thanks

Jody, I love Celtic music. I have the traditional skirt, blouse and bodice ensemble that I wear to our local Celtic Renaissance Fair here in Willits, Calif. If I were to do my wedding all over again (it's been 32 years and we're still going strong), I would wear traditional Celtic finery.

Golden Bough (www.goldenboughmusic.com) is a group that records and tours California and Nevada. They are very good, but Boulder is probably out of their geographical range. However, you might check with them to see if they can steer you to musicians in your area. Email goldenbough@compuserve.com

In addition to their recordings, they offer a genuine, made in Ireland, tin pennywhistle with instruction booklet for only $11. These would make delightful gifts for your flower girl[s] and ringbearer. My 5 year old grandson loves his.
