What To Serve
The wedding is at one o`clock. It will probably be an hour long service and then picture taking.
What kind of wedding buffet would be most appropriate for 3:30 in the afternoon. Dancing, wine and beer are to follow the dinner.

I would keep it light. Fruit, cheese, crackers, dips, maybe even a salad bar.

Your reception is at what some consider "tea time," so serve fruits, cheeses, finger sandwiches, scones, cookies, etc.

I would serve a full meal, probably dinner. Your reception is most likely going be about at least four hours, correct? If so, it will run past dinner time. Add to that the fact that people will not have eaten since lunch. If you add up all the hours, that`s a lot of hours to be going without a meal.
If budget is a concern or your reception is going to be shorter, then probably a less heavy meal will work fine. But either way I would serve some kind of meal, not just fruit, cheese and finger nibbles.

If your wedding is at 1pm then your guest will begin arriving at 12:30 which means they begin getting dressed and ready at 11- 11:30 (ok not the men)
So they may not have time to eat a very large lunch. I would go ahead and have a nice lunch buffet. Lots of salads, maybe even a pasta bar. Also make sure you have a fruit and cheese tray or something around you and your bridesmaids while you are getting ready. You don`t want anyone fainting from hunger at the church.
