Mardi Gras On The Brain

I just realized that Mardi Gras starts in a few days, Fat Tuesday. This is a very fun theme for birthdays, corporate parties, or just for any kind of party. We have Mardi Gras balloons and of course the colors are Green, Purple and Gold (or Yellow). There are special cakes in New Orleans called King Cakes that are a ring type pastry cake made with the Mardi Gras colored icing. Then a little plastic baby doll is inserted just after cooking. When you cut the cake, whoever gets the doll throws the next party. You could have everyone come in costumes, give away beads, and have Mardi Gras jazzy music. It's really a fun theme.
