Buying Gowns On Line
Has anyone bought on line? A friend told me about www.bridesave.com and she bought her gown for 1/ 2 the price she saw it in the store. Has anyone else had positive experience? I`d like to know as I`m considering this. Thanks!

Make sure of your measurements!!!! I found my dress on EBAY it was a size 14 and I am a size 9/10. The dress was still a bit too snug. I bought my dress for $45 brand new shipping and all. I`m not talking about a little dress either, it was one of the most beautiful dresses I had ever seen.

I think you should definitely buy your dress online. Why pay the heafty mark-ups in a store. One dress I was looking into buying I found available from a reliable authorized dealer for $345 online and have heard of others paying upwards of $800 for it. I ended up not getting that one b/c I found a dress very similar to it on ebay for $100 and it fits perfectly. I suggest that you do check out a bridal store or two just so you can get an idea of what looks good on you. Then have someone help you take your measurements. When you go to order your dress online look at the sizing chart and order the dress that fits you largest measurement (For instance someone like myself who is a pear shape and has larger hips would need to order the dress based on the size that would fit my hips and then have the top taken in). Also, if you do need alterations (and chances are you will) find a tailor with experience and recommendations, but don`t go to a wedding salon b/c they will likely charge you more because it didn`t come from their store. Also, when you choose a site to order from, first make sure it is reliable and authorized. You can do this by checking the manufacturer`s/designer`s website to see if the site (or its associated store as may be the case) is listed as an authorized dealer. Then go to the Better Business Bureau website and do a search for the company to make sure they are legit and don`t have any bad history. I personally think ebay is a good route. My thought on ebay is to be willing to gamble a little, you can get a great deal and if you get it and it turns out to be something that doesn`t fit or doesn`t look good on, you can always resell it on ebay. I personally find it rediculous to spend so much money on a dress that you will wear one day, so I fully recommend being a smart shopper and buying online. Good luck!

I used Discount Bridal Service (or DBS) to purchase my dream gown last year. I saved over $300 from what the bridal shop wanted to charge me, I received the dress nearly one month before expected and the dress was perfectly packed and gorgeous, all tags were still on it.

Just be careful who you purchase from on line. I`ve heard some horror stories about brides purchasing gowns on-line. Make sure you are using a reputable company. Those who`ve done thier research first usually end up being quite happy with their gown and the price.
