I Need Help With Decoration Ideas!
My sorority is having our formal in April and we have a theme of "I am a star."
I am having trouble trying to think of ideas for decorations. We want it to seem like we are walking into the oscars or somthing. If you have any ideas or any suggestions for websites that I can go to, please let me know!
Thanks!

How about putting down a red carpet in front of the entrance?
If you have some friends, they could stand outside with cameras & take pix like papparazzi & also, there could
Be 1 or 2 to stand with microphones & they all could
Actually take pictures with lots of flashes & the ones with the mikes could actually interview some people as
They were walking in!
You could find some movie posters (they don't have to
Be of current movies) & have them in the foyer along
With some 'Oscars'.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

Click into Holidays and you will see them at the bottom of the page. Napkins to math too!

Red carpet on walkway or hallway
Heavy duty flashlights pointing toward the ceiling. Hollywood movie posters on the walls. Papier-mache statuettes displayed on the awards table, sprayed or painted gold. Life sized standup cutouts of movie greats, used as official greeters.
You might be able to get movie posters from your local video rental store. My site has some life size standups or you can search the web for them.
Have the camera shots also as suggested by another replier to your request. I hope it turns out to be the best. Good Luck

I have some wonderful suggestions. I would use Gold and Silver as my main colors and maybe a touch of black. You can make your own ballon arch, as shown on my web page under party supplies and we also have lifesize stand ups of stars like Marilyn Monroe and others. Please visit: www.1800partyconsultant.com/40276. You can also have some Gold and Silver foil "Star" plates for either the main dish or as a serving tray, they are also available under "Party Supplies". I would throw some gold and silver stars on the tables. You can find those under the section titled "Party Favors". I hope you find everything you need. You are getting some wonderful suggestions.

Shooting star balloon columns would make the entrance look awesome! Take a look at our site at www.heliumtanks.com and click on decorating. There are some balloon columns with mylar stars on top. I would go with gold, silver, and black or gold and white- very elegant looking. We offer free samples of balloon colors. We also sell the bags of balloons (these are decor quality) and we have helium tanks available in almost every city. You can rent the tank for a few days. You may want to find a balloon artist in your area that could do a sculpture of the Oscar Award. Create a star studded atmosphere with huge 36" star mylars on the tables. If you're concerned about the balloons being in the way, consider having reverse columns with stars on the end (hanging upside-down) from the ceiling placed thru-out the room. I like the suggestions of the flashing cameras and such (you can hire drama majors from a local high school or college to give them some experience). Good luck and if you need balloons, mylars or helium, just call 909-463-3577 or go to www.heliumtanks.com.

Have you checked out www.shindigz.com? It has an entire party area, but there are shooting star decorations, star wallpaper, star centerpieces, etc. It's a really great site, I always find theme stuff in it.

You can put a red carpet and do like the oscars.
You can also have somebody taking pictures of all the people walking down the red carpet. That would make them feel like stars.
